Is all of Iceland going to Blow up? Nope!

According to many Tic Toc users it seems that no place is going to be safe in Iceland, everything is going to be blown up into the sky. But we here know better. Although Iceland is in fact situated on the birth place of the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, the Atlantic ridge, and the Hot spot happens to be at the same place. We here in Iceland are not at all afraid and neither should you.

The Iceland Met Office is monitoring everything everywhere in Iceland.

They monitor the seismic activity in a way that any earthquake is pinpointed not only to the location, but also the depth. This tells us if there is any danger of openings for the magma to rise to the surface.

They monitor the low frequency sounds 1, 2 and 4 Hz which are way to low for the human ear to hear but it in fact the sound when magma is on the move.

They monitor the rivers coming from the mountains for more melting water from the glaciers and increase in conductance in the water which indicates more sulphur and therefore possibility of something going on.

All this information is automatically sent to the Iceland Met Office where it is analysed and if there is any possible danger we get to know about it well in advance. For people that have their cell phones turned on in an area where there is the slightest possibility of danger, The Iceland Met office sends you a text message if you should leave and then where to go.

We are still waiting for possible eruption on the Reykjanes peninsula but now if it will, it is most likely to happen further away from the town of Grindavik.
