Day one - August 21st - Sites of the Golden Circle
8:30 a.m. Pickup is available anywhere between Reykjavik and Selfoss
Stop by the best bakery in Iceland for a cup of coffee, tea, and hot chocolate with a special Icelandic treat.
Þórufoss waterfall, scenes from Game of Thrones filmed there
Þingvellir, old Viking Parliament and tectonic plates
Lunch at Gullfoss café, We recommend the lamb meat soup
Gullfoss falls
1,5 hour visit to the Secret Lagoon
Ferry to Vestmannaeyjar at 5:00 p.m.
Dinner at Einsi Kaldi restaurant and stay at Hótel Vestmannaeyjar*
Day two - August 22nd - Vestmannaeyjar
9:30 a.m. Leaving after breakfast to the day’s adventure
Hike Mt. Eldfell that erupted in January 1973
Pompeii of the North, a museum visit. There is also a section about an island, Surtsey, that was formed in an eruption south of the islands in 1963
Optional visit to see the Beluga whales or swim in the local geothermal swimming pool
For those not scared of heights, climb Heimaklettur
Ferry back to mainland at 3:45 p.m.

Day three - August 23rd - The South

The tour ends in Reykjavik between 5 and 6 p.m. in time to enjoy the amazing restaurants of the City
Hotels:
*Hotel Vestmannaeyjar has a hot tub and a sauna in the basement to enjoy after an adventurous day on the Golden Circle. The gourmet restaurant, Einsi Kaldi, is in the same building.
**The Boutique Hotel Anna has an exceptionally great restaurant. Outside the hotel, there are hot tubs you can enjoy all evening and night!
***Fosshótel Núpar is out in the middle of nowhere with a great view to Iceland’s tallest mountain, Hvannadalshnjúkur. The hotel has two restaurants, a buffet and a la carte.
