Black sand beach

Not only #Blacksand beaches Where the land is the youngest and still in the making you will find the black sand beaches. The black sand is vulcanic and formed in explosions when the magma/lava meets the water. Where the land is older the shells have

been growing for millions of years, crushed and eventually become brown sand. That is of course the main difference between the black sand and the brown sand around here, the fact that the black sand has never been alive, or at least not on this planet! The picture shows a brown sand beach we visit on our Snæfellsnes peninsula tours. #Skarðsvík
